Movember is a truly wonderful cause which raises funds and awareness to fight Prostate cancer. 1 in 9 men are likely to face this disease at some point in their lives, and a lack of awareness is one of the chief reasons they may not survive, since when it is identified early it is much more likely to be survived. Home Appliance Guard had 10 employees who involved themselves in this worthy fundraising campaign and the company donated £100 to help them.
As an added incentive, the biggest single donation to the Home Appliance Guard team, or team member won a shirt signed by 7 LFC players: Daniel Agger, Glenn Johnson, Joe Allen, JonjoShelvey, Martin Skirtel, Steven Gerrard& Stuart Downing. The organiser of the Movember campaign for our company was Simon Miles who won the Children in Need raffle and donated it to the highest donator for Movember. Below he talks about the campaign:
“The HOME APPLIANCE GUARDMovember campaign was a huge success, raising over £370 towards research and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
The 10-man team was supported by the entire company, whose donations, words of support, and even some occasional mocking kept the team strong throughout a “prickly” month.
A £40 donation from Tom Miles secured him a HOME APPLIANCE GUARD shirt signed by a selection of LFC players, and each member of the team was rewarded on the 1st of December, when they each enjoyed a heartwarming reunion with their razors!”
